Proprietor of Nationwide League One club, Nilayo FC, Bukola Olopade, has assured fans that the club will be a shining light to other clubs in the country.Speaking with League Rendezvous, the former commissioner for sports in Ogun State, stated that the main target was to run a professional football club and also develop the game from the grassroots.
“The club was set up to create proper empowerment at the grassroots,” Olopade said.“We want to run a proper professional football club and do things the right way, as it is done all over the world. Our targets have no bounds.“We have recruited a fine mix of young and experienced players. We have the youngest coach in the history of Nigerian league in a 22-year-old UEFA B coach, Eboboritse Uwejamomere.
“Although it is not going to be easy because it takes a lot to take a club from the grassroots to the top level, but with my experience in sports and football in the past, I believe we can achieve our set goals and objectives.”
